Amazing

Mercydez seems to be pulling through this very difficult week-and-a-half she's had. We are all completely blown away. She is so strong! She truly is my greatest hero. We are still having to make some "decisions" about some things, but over-all, I think the worst of the worst is over.

She is still pretty weak... pretty sick. But, she's here. She's amazing.

Nic's brother, Matt, was able to come over last night and meet Mercydez for the first time. I LOVE Matt. He is SUCH a sweetheart.

We have felt the Spirit so strongly this last while. I can't even begin to explain the peace we have had. Thank you so much for offering prayers in our behalf, especially for Mercydez.

Mercydez

The last several days have been extremely rough. So much has happened in such a short amount of time and yet it feels like it's been an eternity.

Our little Mercydez has really been struggling. We gathered our immediate families and our friends and we spent some time with Mercydez. We have had many sacred experiences.

Mercydez is still with us. She truly is a miracle. I won't go into detail, but, looking at things from a "logical" stand, she should have returned to Heavenly Father a while ago. But, she is stubborn. :) She is a fighter. She has had to be a fighter. And we will keep her for as long as we can. She is absolutely amazing. She is still extremely weak and we don't know really what to expect. We have decided to simply allow her to make her own decisions, along side Heavenly Father.

I can't tell you the peace we have felt. With that being said... I have not always maintained a "peaceful" disposition. Both Nic and I have suffered along side our princess. There is nothing worse than knowing you truly can't do anything to relieve what your child is going through. The only thing we have been able to do is hold her, love her, talk and sing to her. We have tried to provide as many comfort measures as possible, but even then, we feel like it's not enough.

There have been several moments when the veil has been extremely thin and it seemed as though it was unquestioningly her time to be welcomed to Heaven. She is constantly hovering between Heaven and Earth. However, Mercydez has held on and pulled through thus far. She is regaining her strength. She is able to express herself a little more.

We are so, so, so, so, so grateful for the time we have had with her. We are grateful for today and the time we get to spend with her. We don't know what tomorrow, or even tonight, will bring. We don't know if she will pull through this or if she will choose otherwise. We truly don't know what path she will take. But, we know without a doubt that a loving Father in Heaven is involved.

WeEZeR

WeEZeR pIctUrES:

Nic is a HUGE Weezer fan! So, he decided to get us tix for their concert! It was so much fun! I don't know a ton of their stuff, but what I do know, I really like. It was such a fun concert! And, it was even more fun because Trav and Addy came along! Wad up?!?!? We left our house to head up to Salt Lake a bit early because I had to make a stop at my new favorite place... GARDNER VILLAGE. It was, of course, so much fun! I could spend all my money there! Then we went to dinner at a yummy Greek place. Something like "Greek Slouvaki"...? Anyway, it was WAY good. And while we were there, we met up with some friends, Rhett and Tracy. Then we took off and partied at Weezer! Nic was so giddy! I couldn't believe how excited he was! You should have seen him... the WHOLE concert... he was like a little kid! I loved watching him! He was having so much fun! The whole night was awesome! It was soooo much fun! Thanks Sweetie, for a super fun night! And thanks Mom, for chillin' with Mercy!

Us at Gardner Village:

Mercy is NINE MONTHS!

Doesn't Mercydez look so adorable in her nine-month birthday present from Jenni? Thanks sosososososososososo much Jenni! You are WAY too thoughtful! Mercy LOVES her new blankie!!!

I can't believe that Mercydez is already nine months old! Where does the time go? She is such a miracle. She is proof that God does exsist. Oh, how we love you, sweet, little, beautiful Mercy!

TAGGED

So, I've been tagged. It seems to be an epidemic... :) So, here are my seven random and weird things about me...

1. I have a chicken-pox scar right in the corner of my eye. For many, that is the only way they can tell me and my identicle twin sister apart.
2. I have had braces TWO TIMES in my life. My teeth used to be very crooked. Now, I can't stop smiling!
3. I am addicted to chapstick. I'm trying to get off the "petrolium" brands though. I have found the best chapstick at Good Earth. It's the Badger brand. I also love the chapstick from Jamba Juice.
4. When I find a piece of clothing I like, I tend to buy in bulk.
5. I have always wanted hair like Sandra Bullock or Nicole Kidman in "Practical Magic".
6. I listen to Christmas Music year-round (I'm bracing myself for the boo's and tomatoes and eggs to be thrown at me).
7. I have my own therapy sessions: I stamp. I am an avid stamper.

Waaaalaaaa! Now you know seven random things about me. Lucky you. Now, I'm going to tag a few others: Adrienne, Megan, Angel, Brisa, Nicole, and Caroline! Can't wait to hear of your weirdness. Adios!

Gardner Village, Oh, and Doctors Too

I had a teacher named Mr. Hrynyshyn (her-nah-shin) in seventh grade and he told ALL of his students that come the first day of the month, if you said "Rabbit, Rabbit" as your FIRST spoken word then you would then have a good month. Random? Yes, but I have never forgotten that! I laugh just thinking about it.

So, October 1st was "Rabbit, Rabbit" day. It's supposed to be a good day, right? Well, it started pretty good. I got ready quickly, got Mercydez fed and all ready for her swallow study up at Primary Children's Hospital. Oh, I was doin' good. I picked up my mom and was doing pretty good on time. But, then I quickly ran into Wal-Mart. We were running a bit late after that, but we weren't late (YET) to the appointment. I called on our way up and explained that we would be just a bit late. I was reassured to come up regardless of being late and that we would be fit in. So, we get there and I pull out my wallet to pay the co-pay and realize I LEFT MY CASH AT WALMART! Urg! No worries though. We can be billed later. So, we go to Radiology. I go to check in. Yes, we're late, but remember, I was told to come REGARDLESS. I state we're here for Mercydez and I'm immediately told that we need to reschedule. I was so mad. I was a little sharp with the receptionist. I feel bad, but not really. I told her "I spoke with you not long ago and you told me to come up regardless." To which she said, "Oh. So, when would you like to reschedule?" Yeah, thanks for the sympathy.

The good news is that because it was rescheduled I was able to visit some (I wish I could have visited more) of our friends from the heart group we belong to. It was very emotional for me. My poor mom had to deal with me. Sorry Mom.

So, to make a hard and somewhat irritating day better, my mom, Mercydez and I went to Gardner Village! I have never been there and I absolutely LOVED it! I am DYING to go back! It is decorated soooo cute right now! I think it's now one of my most favorite places! I would love to work there! They have a dinner-play running until the end of the month that looks so cute! I'm begging Nic to take me. Of course, he has to consult his BYU Football schedule first. So, hopefully we'll be going sometime soon! I had so much fun! My mom and I had lunch, checked out some stores, tried and purchased some DELICIOUS fudge, etc. etc. etc. It was a great few hours. I love my mom. She is amazing. She is definitely a "Mother Who Knows".

Today we had an appointment with an Audiologist at UVRMC. It went really well. The doctor feels like Mercydez CAN hear but because of the fluid in her ears (she has a significant amount due to her cleft) it's like she's wearing really good ear plugs. So, we're going to have to make a decision about tubes. For some, that's a no-brainer. But, for us it's scary. They would have to sedate her for that... So, we'll see. But, we're still gonna keep pursuing Sign Language. I don't mind learning anyway.

So, happy October to all! Hope your "Rabbit, Rabbit" day was fabulous. Hope you're October is fabulous. Happy Halloween!
