Dear Mercydez,
I could write you a novel-letter. I'll do my best not to though, because I know you are extremely busy.
Today is your 16-month birthday. It has been bitter-sweet. I have felt a great amount of happiness today, knowing you are free. My gratitude for your freedom and your joy will always surpass the sorrow I feel for myself in not having you. I have always wanted what is best for you. Always. I am so grateful that you now have the very best.
I don't have you here to celebrate and it makes my heart sad. I have actually been hearing your little cry in my mind all day long. It has been sweet. I miss you so much.
So, here are your achievements on this, your 16-month birthday... and I couldn't be happier or more proud.
1. Surrounded by many, many loved ones.
2. Has danced.
3. Has picked flowers in a never-ending field of tulips and babies-breath.
4. Has blinked.
5. Has swallowed... probably something tasty, like chocolate.
6. Has felt the top of her mouth with her tongue.
7. Has wrestled with Mark.
8. Has held hands and twirled with Ma'Kayla and Heather.
9. Has sat on Grandpa's lap as he read her a story.
10. Has met Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father.
I'm so proud of you Mercydez. I know, that in reality, your spirit isn't a baby-spirit. You are a young woman. I can only imagine the beauty you are. I'm sure you are stunning. I've never met a more beautiful little girl in all my life. I'm sure, in your fullness, you are indescribably beautiful.
I love you. I miss you with all my heart. Know that Daddy and I are okay. We will forever miss you, but we are forever grateful for the miraculous time we had with you. You truly are Heavenly Father's mercy in our lives.

PS Elmo has been keeping me great company. I remember when we gave it to you last Valentines Day and you were so afraid of him. We made him talk to you and your eyes grew so large. I can't wait to hear what your thoughts were in that moment. But, your Elmo means so much to me. I remember, we always kept that by your side in the hospital. It was a staple here at home. And now, he's mine to love and care for.
PSS Same with the elephants. That memory just makes me smile and chuckle. You truly are the cutest little fudge browniiiiiieeeeee (thanks to Auntie Addy).

It is so great to see Mercy in that light ... the knowledge of life after death. How she is rejoicing ... for her knew found abilities but also for your (all of you) strength and faith. Thanks for sharing such sweet thoughts of a better world and life to come. Love you. You are an inspiration.

What a wonderful place to be and what peace it brings to think of her with her heavenly parents who are taking care of her until you will be reunited. We continue to think and pray for you while you are separated from your precious mercydez.
I was thinking about you today and wondering how you were getting on?? I was showing Sydney pic's of Mercy the other day -- She kept saying how cute she is -- and how she needed to "play piggies with her toes". From Sydney that is a huge compliment as she is not a big fan of babies! To me Sydney has a perfect eternal perspective as she doesn't view people who have passed on as "gone" but just as a see you later -- after a short while. Whenever she speaks of her Momma Teresa, Mercy etc it is in the present tense not the past. Please know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

What a sweet mommy she will always have! You, Nic, and Mercy are all so deserving of each other! Anytime Lily celebrates her birthdays, I know that Mercy's quickly follow. I didn't realize how close in age they are. 2 months almost to the day. What a sweet priceless picture you paint of her in Heaven.
